Finance SIG

The main objective of IE's Finance SIG is sharing knowledge and information about the financial sector and bringing about active participation from the club members.
The suggested activities and initiatives include:
  • A knowledge series where fundamental concepts like time value of money, fundamental analysis etc. are explained. This could be open to all students of the college.  Also, case studies and profiles of successful organizations from a fundamental point of view could be discussed in detail.
  • A newsletter or a monthly magazine encompassing current issues that would impact financial markets.
  • Seminars / guest lectures on topics like risk management that would interest a lot of people considering the present day scenario.
  • Tutorials on :
    •  Software/tools for computation used in the financial sector, for example  Excel.
    • Personal Finance, including basic investing, different financial instruments etc.
  • A comprehensive mock stock just for members, including discussion of strategies, running for a longer time than conventional mock stock events.
  • Disseminating information about the different exams which can be given(especially NSE certifications) and providing guidance to students who want to take up finance after their BTech.
